Active slavery in America seem to belong in the history book with the after effect lingering in all aspects of the lives of the black people in America. Civil right activism was instrumental in alleviating some of the lingering negative impacts of slavery. However, there is a recent systematic reversal of the gains of the civil right era with little resistance and sometimes using individuals in the black community to either push for the reversal or provide legitimacy for the reversal. The result is that black people are much further away than they were decades ago in realizing the full promise of America as a nation where all people have equal rights and could enjoy freedom and the pursuit of happiness.
A keen observer of the political and social landscape in America will notice a rise in overt racism and discrimination against the black people in multiple fronts. This includes the banning of books with black authors in schools, reversal of laws preventing the suppression of black votes, erasing dominantly black political districts from the political map, moving voting areas in black communities to far and difficult to access locations, and leaving black people with little or no representation in government. Others include but not limited to the reversal of laws/policies that enhance education and economic opportunities for the black people such as the affirmative action, desegregation of schools, and dismantling of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in employment and other socio-economic endeavors.
Regrettably, many black men and women who have privileged platform are either active participant or the architects of the dismantling of the laws and policies created to alleviate century long harm and setback that slavery caused the black community. Some of these black individuals cut across many works of lives ranging from government, news media, sports, entertainment industries etc. The reasons why some members of the black community could adopt laws and policies that harm their own communities is mind burgling. One school of thought suggest that some black individuals harbor irreconcilable grievance against their own black community and have decided to harm the entire black community as a revenge. Another school of thought postulate that some black individuals sold their conscience to other major races in return for quality and quantitative personal gains while others are classified as vulnerable black individuals who are economically exploited by other major races to harm the entire black community knowingly or unknowingly. In some instances, some black individuals want to prove to the public or impress other major races to agree that their economic success and social class status was a direct result of their personal efforts and hard work. These individuals cite themselves as the road map that all black people must follow to achieve success. In some painful and humiliating instances, some black individuals claim that their fore fathers lives were better and honorable during the era of slavery and intense dehumanization of the black race in order to placate members of other races and then earn their acceptance. However, looking deep into the success story of these individuals reveal disingenuous individuals who benefitted from the bridges and smooth paths created with the sweat and blood of past black leaders and ancestors and who crossed the bridges and walked past the smooth paths and then decided to burn it down.
Let it be known that there is a concerted efforts to deploy new form of slavery using black people as the driving tool to normalize it and give it legitimacy. The strategy is to gradually erode all the gains of the emancipation of blacks out of slavery and the civil rights gains thereafter and replace it with second class humans with little or no rights to pursue any form of happiness for the current and unborn black generation. It is not worth using whatever platform, position, association, and relationship one has to undermine and destroy the lives and future existence of the black race. Posterity shall hold anyone in the black community who is using his or her privileged position to re-enslave the black community responsible for the destruction of the black people in the 21st century.
