In the last 50-60 years, the battle ground for human inspired wars and conflicts have been fought mostly in the developing countries in Africa, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. With the development and acquisition of nuclear weapons by some developed countries, the battle ground for wars in the developed countries that possess the nuclear weapons seem to have ceased entirely. Other developed countries without nuclear weapons that form allies with the countries with nuclear weapons are shielded by the big ally with nuclear weapon and are also witnessing little or no battle ground for wars and destructive conflicts. After generations of wars at global scale, the developed countries understood that civilization, high tech innovation, prosperity, and pursuit of happiness could not be sustained with incessant wars. Apart from the deterrence of nuclear weapons, developed countries also understood that any conventional wars between one developed country and another would have huge consequences on their march towards modern civilization and innovation. On the alternative, they engage in cold wars, sanctions, and other non-lethal methods to resolve existing or potential hostilities.
Regrettably, developing countries have yet to comprehend the devastating impact of wars and destructive conflicts on their existence as a race and people, as well as the development and civilization of their various countries. As a result, their various countries have been designated testing grounds for lethal weapons manufactured in developed countries with massive casualties on lives and properties. It is heartbreaking to learn that some of the triggers of the wars are issues related to religion, disputes on territories and boundaries, self-ego, and minor/major political impasse. Lessons from history, common sense, patriotism, love of race and culture, and value for live seem to have evaporated. Leaders, religious or civil, as well as aggrieved groups and individuals motivated by religion, politics, and other forms of dispute must take stock of the wars they created and decide if wars and devastation of their various countries and peoples is worth the fight.
Considering the destruction of lives and properties and potential reversal of civilization in many developing countries during wars, the author proposes the below suggestions and words of wisdom to leaders of developing countries on how and why wars must be avoided in their countries.
- Let it be known to developing countries that fighting unwinnable wars or engaging in violent tantrums with the mighty powers as a pressure tactic to achieve desired reform or change have been proven to be unsuccessful most of the times. Continuing to apply this tactic is an invitation for the destruction of current and unborn generations. Peaceful pressure and aligning with sensible strong powerful countries would seem more successful, but might take a long time. The reasons that a wise man would subscribe to peaceful method is that while reform is slow, the country and its peoples would continue to grow, develop, and pursue normal activities of live with the preservation of current and future generations.
- For aggrieved religious fighters of any faith, let it be known that the Almighty God have not in the past, the present, and will not in the future, rely on mortal humans to fight His wars. Fighting wars on behalf of God with the destruction of lives is not likely to be pleasing to God. Leaders and People of faith must shield their personal emotions, ego, and rage with the Grace and blessings from God through prayers to avoid triggering actions and activities that could lead to wars and fights in the name of the Gods they worship. It will be wise to learn or know that wars lost by men will never be lost by God. If God would win all wars, why fight and lose a war on his behalf.
Conclusion
The destruction of lives (born and unborn), properties, and reversal of civilization in countries engaged in ego driven wars is disturbing especially when the wars are not winnable. Common sense dictates that reasonable persons would know when to retreat to save current and future generation of people, race, culture and creed. Examples exists today of countries that have abandoned the ego driven wars to save future generations and the author urge aggrieved groups and countries to adopt such examples.
